【摘要】:Sincetheinformationprovidedbythistestmethodislargelyqualitativeinnature,specificlimitscoveringthefollowingcharacteristicsarerequiredinreferringtothistestmethodinspecificationsforkerosine:Durationofthetest:16hisunderstood,ifnototherwisespecified;Permissiblechangeinflameshapeanddimensionsduringthetest;Descriptionoftheacceptableappearanceofthechimneydeposit.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthequalitativedeterminationoftheburningpropertiesofkerosinetobeusedforilluminatingpurposes.(Warningx2014;Combustible.Vaporharmful.)Note18212;ThecorrespondingEnergyInstitute(IP)testmethodisIP10whichfeaturesaquantitativeevaluationofthewick-char-formingtendenciesofthekerosine,whereasTestMethodD187featuresaqualitativeperformanceevaluationofthekerosine.Bothtestmethodssubjectthekerosinetosomewhatmoresevereoperatingconditionsthanwouldbeexperiencedintypicaldesignatedapplications.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsappearthroughoutthetestmethod.
