【摘要】:ThispartofIEC60749describesatestmethodusedtodeterminetheresistanceofasemiconductordevicetothermalandmechanicalstressesduetocyclingthepowerdissipationoftheinternalsemiconductordieandinternalconnectors.Thishappenswhenlowvoltageoperatingbiasesforforwardconduction(loadcurrents)areperiodicallyappliedandremoved,causingrapidchangesoftemperature.Thepowercyclingtestisintendedtosimulatetypicalapplicationsinpowerelectronicsandiscomplementarytohightemperatureoperatinglife(seeIEC60749-23).Exposuretothistestmaynotinducethesamefailuremechanismsasexposuretoair-to-airtemperaturecycling,ortorapidchangeoftemperatureusingthetwo-fluid-bathsmethod.Thistestcauseswear-outandisconsidereddestructive.NOTEItisnottheintentionofthisspecificationtoprovidepredictionmodelsforlifetimeevaluation.
